Procedures for Curbside Pickup

Curbside hold pickup services continue to be available at all El Dorado County library branches. Details about available services and procedures vary slightly for each operating branch and are listed below.  Service hours are subject to change.

Placerville Library

Beginning Thursday, June 18, 2020, the  Placerville Library is open to the public. Face coverings are required.

Hours:

Tuesdays: 12-7 pm

Wednesdays: 12-7 pm

Thursdays: 10 am-5 pm

Fridays: 10 am-5 pm

Saturday Senior Hour: 10 am-11 am

Saturdays: 11 am-5 pm

Closed Sunday and Monday

Location: 345 Fair Lane, Placerville

Available Services:

Patrons are welcome to browse materials.  Please maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and non-family members when browsing materials and wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the library.

Currently, our self-checkout stations are closed.  Staff will check out materials.  Curbside pickup is available for patrons who do not wish to enter the library.  See below for the new curbside system and times.

Tables are available for use, but please limit your table to 1 household or person.

Public Computers : See library staff if you'd like to use a computer so we can prepare a computer station for you.

Saturday Senior Hour : Saturdays from 10-11 am are reserved for at-risk populations. A reminder that face coverings are required to enter the library to protect our at-risk patrons.

Returning Items: Please use outside book drop, as items placed here go directly to our quarantine area. Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the book drop. All items will be quarantined for 5 days and will not be listed as “returned” in the patron’s account during that time. Overdue fines will not be assessed during that period.

Curbside Pickup: Tuesday through Saturday 2-5 pm.  Please park in designated "Curbside Pickup" parking space.  Call the library at 530.621.5540 when you arrive.  Please have your library card number ready so we can prep your materials.  Thank you for being patient as we may have delays due to staffing limitations.

Do not enter the library if you have any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, chills, shortness of breath, muscle pain, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell.

Wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the library.

Please maintain 6 feet of physical distance between yourself and others.

One household or person per table.

We have limited maximum occupancy and may enforce a 1 hour time limit if necessary.

South Lake Tahoe Library

Beginning Thursday, June 25, 2020, the  South Lake Tahoe Library is open to the public. Face coverings are required.

Mondays: 12-5 pm

Tuesdays: 12-7 pm

Wednesdays: 12-7 pm

Thursdays: 12-5 pm

Fridays: 12-5 pm

Saturdays: 12-5 pm

Location: 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd, South Lake Tahoe

Public Computers :  Computers are physically distanced and we have a limited numbers of stations for use.  Computers are available on a first come/first serve basis for 30-minute sessions, which may be extended if no one is waiting to use a computer. Public computer stations are cleaned by library staff after every use.

Returning Items: Please use outside book drop, as items placed here go directly to our quarantine area. Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the book drop. All items will be quarantined for 5 days and will not be listed as “returned” in the patron’s account during that time. Overdue fines will not be assessed during that period.

As of July 20, 2020, the Cameron Park Library is open to the public. Face coverings are required.  For the safety of everyone, please ensure your face mask fits snugly and covers both your nose and mouth.

Curbside Pickup: Tuesday 2:00-2:30 pm, Wednesday 3:30-4:00 pm, Thursday 5:30-6:00 pm by appointment.  Call the library at 530.621.5500 for more information.

Pickup Procedure:  After you arrive at the Cameron Park Library for your pickup appointment, walk to the pickup service area at the Community Room door located to the side of the building facing the parking lot.  Library staff will have your holds checked out to you and  placed on a table ready for you to pick up.

Public Computer Use: Computers are physically distanced and there are a limited number of stations for use.  Computers are available on a first come/first serve basis for 30 minute sessions.  Maintain 6 feet of distance from others at all times. You must provide your own headphones.  Wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the computer.  Alert staff when you are finished using the computer so the station can be sanitized.

Senior Hour : Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 am-12 pm am are reserved for at-risk populations.  A reminder that face coverings are required to enter the library at all times to protect our at-risk patrons.

Returning Items: Please use outside manual book drop, as items placed here go directly to our quarantine area. The automated book drop remains closed. Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the book drop. All items will be quarantined for 5 days and will not be listed as “returned” in the patron’s account during that time. Overdue fines will not be assessed during that period.

Curbside Pickup: Appointment only.  Curbside pickup is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-11 am. You can place holds through the online catalog, or call 916.358.3500 during open hours and library staff can help you. You will receive a confirmation email as soon as your items are available and at that time you can book your pickup appointment.  When calling to make an appointment, please have your library card ready.

Pickup Procedure: When you arrive at the El Dorado Hills Library for your pickup appointment, go to the pickup service area located in the Library parking lot. When library staff comes out to your car after you arrive, please provide them with your last name. They will then return to you with your items that have been checked out to you and secured in a paper bag. Your items will be placed at the front of your vehicle.  Please retrieve items after library staff have left the area.
