Procedures for Curbside Pickup

Curbside hold pickup services are now available at all El Dorado County library branches except the Bookmobile. Details about available services and procedures vary slightly for each operating branch and are listed below.  Service hours are subject to change.

Placerville Library

Beginning Thursday, June 18, 2020, the  Placerville Library is open to the public. Face coverings are required.

Hours:

Tuesdays 12-7 pm

Wednesdays 12-7 pm

Thursdays 10 am-5 pm

Fridays 10 am-5 pm

Saturday Senior Hour 10 am-11 am

Saturdays 11 am-5 pm

Closed Sunday and Monday

Location: 345 Fair Lane, Placerville

 

Available Services:

Patrons are welcome to browse materials.  Please maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and non-family members when browsing materials and wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the library.

Currently, our self-checkout stations are closed.  Staff will check out materials.  Curbside pickup is available for patrons who do not wish to enter the library.  See below for the new curbside system and times.

Tables are available for use, but please limit your table to 1 household or person.

Public Computers : See library staff if you'd like to use a computer so we can prepare a computer station for you.

Saturday Senior Hour : Saturdays from 10-11 am are reserved for at-risk populations.  Face coverings will be required to enter the library during this time to protect our at-risk patrons.

Returning Items: Please use outside book drop, as items placed here go directly to our quarantine area. Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the book drop. All items will be quarantined for 3 days and will not be listed as “returned” in the patron’s account during that time. Overdue fines will not be assessed during that period.

Curbside Pickup: Tuesday through Saturday 2-5 pm.  Please park in designated "Curbside Pickup" parking space.  Call the library at 530.621.5540 when you arrive.  Please have your library card number ready so we can prep your materials.  Thank you for being patient as we may have delays due to staffing limitations.

Conditions for entering the library: 

Do not enter the library if you have any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, chills, shortness of breath, muscle pain, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell.

Wash or sanitize your hands before and after using the library.

Please maintain 6 feet of physical distance between yourself and others.

Face coverings are required.

Please avoid unnecessary touching of surfaces or materials.

One household or person per table.

We have limited maximum occupancy and may enforce a 1 hour time limit if necessary.

Failure to comply with safety protocols may result in loss of library privileges.

At this time, all other El Dorado County library branches are currently closed but actively working toward meeting state guidelines for reopening.

South Lake Tahoe Library

Beginning Thursday, June 25, 2020, the  South Lake Tahoe Library is open to the public. Face coverings are required.

Mondays 12-5 pm

Tuesdays 12-7 pm

Thursdays 12-5 pm

Fridays 12-5 pm

Saturdays 12-5 pm

Location: 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd, South Lake Tahoe

The Cameron Park Library is currently closed but actively working toward meeting state guidelines for reopening.

Service hours:

Tuesdays 2-4 pm (Appointment only)

Wednesdays  2-4 pm (Appointment only)

Available Services:

Returning Items: Book drop is open. Patrons may also return items to designated bins during hold pickup. Please do not place bags or boxes in the drop off bins. All returned items will be quarantined for 7 days and will not be listed as “returned” in the patron’s account during that time. Overdue fines will not be assessed during that period.

Holds Pickup: Beginning Tuesday, May 5, patrons may retrieve all hold items that are ready for pickup.  When a hold becomes available, an e-mail is sent to you.  Please call 530.621.5500 to arrange a time for pickup.  Appointments are available from 2-4 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Pickup Procedure: After you arrive at the Cameron Park Library for your pickup appointment, walk to the pickup service area located to the side of the building facing the parking lot near the Community Room door.  Library staff will have your holds checked out to you and  placed on a table ready for you to pick up.

Georgetown Library

Beginning Wednesday, June 24, 2020, the  Georgetown Library is open to the public. Face coverings are required.

The El Dorado Hills Library is currently closed but actively working toward meeting state guidelines for reopening.

Returning Items: The manual book drop is now open. The automated book drop remains closed. Patrons may also return checked out items to designated bins during hold pickup service hours only. Please do not place bags or boxes in the drop off bins.  All returned items will be quarantined for 7 days and will not be listed as “returned” in the patron’s account during that time. Overdue fines will not be assessed during that period.

Holds Pickup: Beginning Tuesday, May 5, you can place holds through the online catalog, or call Mon-Fri from 10 am-4 pm at 916.358.3500 and we can help you. You will receive a confirmation email as soon as your items are available and at that time you can book your pickup appointment.  When calling to make an appointment, please have your library card ready.

Pickup Procedure: When you arrive at the El Dorado Hills Library for your pickup appointment, go to the pickup service area located in the Library parking lot. Call the number on the display stand and tell staff your last name and your parking stall number.  Library staff will have your holds checked out to you and secured in bags.  Your items will be placed at the front of your vehicle.  Please retrieve items after library staff have left the area.

Pollock Pines Library

The Pollock Pines Library is currently closed but actively working toward meeting state guidelines for reopening.
